I thought it would be amusing to set up Tess' crystal ball as a sort of fantasy television, complete with soap operas. The characters of Alissa and Rendeth (the Thultryl) are background characters straight out of the Living City of Ravens Bluff. The duck had something to do with the Framed escape theme from the previous crossover strips.
