I wanted this strip dark, like it was just before the dawn. Unfortunately for IBM clone users, I use a mac and I guess my screen is just normally brighter. I can see the comic fine, yet still dimly. I got complaints from some that they couldn't see the joke.
In D&D 3rd ed there are rules for extending spells and potions. I thought it would be funny, and a bit kinky at the same time to confuse the duration of the potion with the duration of the encounter.
