Web Comics Awareness 2001

Hey, it's web comic awareness day. Aren't you glad you had some palace to find out about it?

Here is a listing of the archived comic line leading up to this strip [1|2|3|4]. Technically, there is one that comes after as well [5].

If you are interested in last year's DeViations on the same topic, go here.

If you wish to check out some web comics other than this one, check out DeVia's link page.

The Keenspace Blues
by Fugli Troll [to the tune of "The Cat came Back" by Harry S. Miller]

Oh, old Mr. Bleuel has some problems of his own.
His server's on the fritz and it's miles from his home.
He drives back and forth to make it work another day.
Will it be up tomorrow? We can only pray.

But the system went down, the very next day.
The system went down, taking all the comics.
Yes, the system went down, there must be a better way.

He tied it up with twine, and used some super glue.
He wrapped it up with cellophane, and used some band-aids too.
Everyone was so impressed, it worked without a hitch.
With all the comics running smooth, there was no one left to bitch.

But the system went down, the very next day.
The system went down, along with all the forums.
Yes, the system went down, there must be a better way.

He used his arcane knowledge to write some uber code.
He routed all the FTP through some obscure node.
"Nukees" came online alright, along with "Hell Sweet Hell,"
But the rest of the system went somewhere I cannot tell.

So the system went down, the very next day.
The system went down, retaining random data.
Oh, the system went down, there must be a better way.

Switching out computers seemed the only way
to fix a situation that was slipping day by day.
Still, the surfers kept on coming to get their daily toons,
reading comics like "Framed" and "The Adventures of Ronnie Raccoon."

Still the system went down, the very next day.
The system went down. We shoulda seen it coming.
Oh, the system went down, but the Keen is here to stay.
